Beijing Vocational University of Science and Technology is the first municipal public undergraduate-level vocational college established by the Beijing Municipal People's Government. The school's history dates back to 1958. In 1999, it was formerly known as Beijing Light Industry Vocational and Technical College, and in 2004, it merged with Beijing Post and Telecommunications Industrial School to become Beijing Electronic Science and Technology Vocational College. In 2007, Beijing Electronic Science and Technology Vocational College merged with Beijing Instrument and Meter Industry School, Beijing Second Light Industry School, Beijing Mechanical Industry School, and Beijing Automotive Industry School to form the new Beijing Electronic Science and Technology Vocational College. In 2025, the Ministry of Education approved the establishment of Beijing Science and Technology Vocational University based on Beijing Electronic Science and Technology Vocational College. In recent years, the school has earnestly implemented the spirit of the National Education Conference and the National Vocational Education Conference, seized major opportunities such as the construction of national-level model higher vocational schools, the national comprehensive reform pilot zone for higher vocational education, the Ministry of Education's three-year action plan for higher vocational colleges, and the construction of high-level vocational colleges and majors with Chinese characteristics by the Ministry of Education and Beijing, continuously advancing its development to new heights. The university is located in the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area and is the only higher education institution within the zone, equipped with excellent educational conditions and comprehensive infrastructure. The building area is 370,300 square meters, with total fixed assets valued at 2.61 billion yuan, and teaching instruments and equipment valued at 915 million yuan. There are 25 on-campus industry-education integration practice platforms, 322 on-campus training sites, and 390 off-campus internship bases. There are 3 Beijing Institutes of Engineers, 3 Beijing Technical Skills Master Studios, and 3 pilot test bases in the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area. It has a professional standard gymnasium, swimming pool, and stadium, and is the venue for the 54th Beijing University Games. It offers full-time degree education, offering 14 vocational undergraduate majors: Synthetic Biotechnology, Automotive Engineering Technology, Mechatronic Engineering Technology, Automation Technology and Applications, Integrated Circuit Engineering Technology, Digital Media Art, Artificial Intelligence Engineering Technology, Big Data Engineering Technology, Biopharmaceutical Technology, Biotesting Technology, New Energy Vehicle Engineering Technology, Aviation Electromechanical Equipment Maintenance Technology, Aviation Power Device Maintenance Technology, and Smart Integrated Energy Engineering, with 42 higher vocational college enrollment majors. Carry out "2+3+2" integrated training education for high-end technical and skilled talents, targeted sant-commissioned officer training, vocational skills training, adult degree education, and other interdisciplinary and multi-degree education, cultivating over 100,000 high-quality skilled talents for society in total. Lu Jiafu, a national "Ten Thousand Talents Plan" teaching master, was appointed as the chief expert for professional development, and "Great Wall Scholar" Chen Yong and senior engineer and aircraft rivet fitter Bai Bingru are professional leaders of the school. The school adheres to the path of integrated industry-city-education development. As the only higher education institution in the Economic Development Zone, it is fully integrated into the construction of Yizhuang Comprehensive Industrial New City, signed a new round of comprehensive strategic cooperation agreements with the zone, and jointly applied for and launched pilot projects for the construction of a national industry-education integrated city. The school was selected as one of the first batch of national demonstration vocational education group cultivation units, led the construction of the Beijing Integrated Circuit Industry-Education Consortium, and was one of the first 28 national-level municipal industry-education consortia. It also led the establishment of industry-education integration communities for software and information services (digital technology), robotics and industrial digitalization, national new energy vehicle technology innovation, and national industrial parts shared flexible manufacturing. It has long-term deep cooperation with over 90 leading industry enterprises, establishing industry-education integration platforms such as Daimler China Automotive Institute, Baidu Intelligent Vehicle Industry Institute, ARCFOX Academy, Jiuqi Industry College, Perfect World Digital Art Industry College, Robotics and Intelligent Manufacturing Industry College, Low-Altitude Technology Industry College, Integrated Circuit Industry Institute, Synthetic Biology Intelligent Manufacturing Research Institute, and Big Data Finance Application Research Institute. In cooperation with Beijing Benz, JD Group, NAURA Innovation, Air China Ameco, and others, more than 20 order-based or targeted classes have been offered, covering over 50% of students. The school has been recognized for consecutive years as an advanced unit in Beijing's college graduate employment work, and has been rated as a model entrepreneurship center for universities in Beijing and one of the top 50 national model schools for innovation and entrepreneurship in higher vocational colleges. Enterprise and social recognition has significantly increased, with graduate employment rates consistently above 98% and enterprise satisfaction above 95%.
