Hainan Vocational University of Economics and Business  was founded in 1984. It is a state-owned public university focused on cultivating high-skilled talents in economics and trade. It is recognized as a high-level vocational school with Chinese characteristics, a national backbone vocational college, a national quality vocational college, a national model university with typical graduate employment experience, one of the top 50 national vocational college internship management schools, one of the top 50 students in vocational colleges nationwide, an excellent school for Huang Yanpei vocational education, a national demonstration school for employment competitiveness among vocational colleges, one of the top 100 competitive higher vocational colleges nationwide, an advanced unit for innovation and entrepreneurship in national vocational colleges, and a national advanced collective in vocational education. The university has 12 secondary colleges: School of Marxism, School of Financial Management, School of International Trade, College of International Tourism, School of Information Technology, School of Mechanical and Electrical and Automotive Engineering, School of International Education, School of Foreign Languages, School of Humanities and Arts, School of Sports and Health, Ural College, and School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship. By 2026, 4 undergraduate majors, 45 associate degree majors, and 6 "3+2" higher vocational and undergraduate segmented training programs will be offered.
